Family Picnic
LAS and NAAAP Family Picnic
Congratulations and thank you to those who came out to the LAS and NAAAP-Atlanta flag football/picnic event on April 8th, 2006 at Jones Bridge Park, Gwinnett. There were more than 40 people who came out to participate in the first event of this year’s term.
The day started out gloomy with overcast, but luckily we had the perfect location to accommodate our activities at East Jones Bridge Park in Gwinnett. As if it were planned out to the last detail, the weather cooperated and the event took place without a hitch. As always, there was abundance of food, from papaya salad, lemon grass chicken, sticky rice, noodles, hot dogs, fruits, desserts and homemade cookies. But for most, the favorite had to have been Ai Gai’s marinated pork ribs. It was done to perfection!!
After a great feast, participants were treated to variety of outdoor activities ranging from badminton to volleyball, Frisbee and soccer, and of course the flag football. LAS was matched up against the NAAAP-Atlanta team and each team consisted of eight players. It was a very close game, neck and neck, with NAAAP-Atlanta scoring the first touchdown. LAS tied the score, only to have NAAAP score soon after. LAS did end up winning the game by a score of 35-28, but the real winners in the event were all those who came out to participate.
A big thank you goes to those who helped coordinate and plan the event for both NAAAP-Atlanta and LAS.
