EAC
The Education Award Ceremony (or EAC), is one of LAS’s most important events of the year. The EAC is usually held after the annual fundraising ball, giving recognition and awards to grade school kids, and scholarships to promising Laotian college students. EAC is a program that LAS has been consistent with since it was first introduced in August of 2003.
Laotian-American students still rank below many other minorities when it comes to high school graduation rates and college admission. It is our belief that education can help in the betterment of one’s life and also a springboard to becoming a productive member of society. By stressing education and culture, LAS hopes that our children will carry our mission forward.
LAS would like to thank the many sponsors who have donated our scholarship program: UPS, NKK Design and Build, Chopstix for Charity, Chick-Fil-A, Wal-Mart, and many others over the past several years.
